had this tonight 3 times iv had it now any ideas what it means peeps

For a start id say update graphics driver

I had this before when playing battlefield, it is a motherboard / graphics issue. Do you keep your pc nice and clean inside? If not, give it a clean out, it may help. Aside from that, make sure all drivers are installed and up to date if issue persists, I am afraid it may be a new motherboard needed .

Just give the pc a good clean but be careful when cleaning the motherboard so you don't scratch anything, I suggest using some form of air blower. or a very very very soft artist brush.

Id be very surprised if the mobo was fubar, is your system actually over heating ?
what are the temps on your system idle and load ?

Also the portcls bit is referng to sound drivers, do you have onboard or a seperate sound card ?

With mine it was the on board sound drivers that played up. Hence cleaning worked but ended up getting new board anyway :P

thx for replys my NVidia card has the latest drivers 332.21 and my head set is just a usb str8 off the m/b  trust 5.1 surround head set I will monitor temps with link lec thx seems to be a lot worse since last patch
