Without taking the cost into account which would you choose for a new rig.
I7-4790K or I5-4690K
Will the game developers ever really get to grips with hyper threading making full use of the I7.

Personally id get I7 just for maximum future proofing but do you really need to upgrade ?
might be worth waiting for the next gen cpus to arrive .

Spec used to be on the old forum will have to add.
I went I7 last time and to be honest there is nothing wrong with it, its more the fact that my older 6950 or whatever dual core I passed on to my sun is struggling so I was thinking of passing this down to him and having something new so there's no real rush.
What and when are the new CPU's coming?
The ones I looked at are this devils canyon or something

New broadwell cpus should be coming around christmas but i dont know much about them
other than there a lot smaller chips
