It gives me no pleasure to say this, but I think I'm going to have to withdraw my application. I've had great fun in my short time as a recruit, but I don't feel I can dedicate the time you folks deserve. Given my line of work, and all the "extracurricular" stuff I have to do, and other commitments, I don't think I'll be able to give you much in return.

It's been great gaming with you, and I'll still rock up on the servers, but please consider my application withdrawn. Sorry!

I'm currently making a shopping list of things to buy for my P.C. next month - currently I'm looking at getting a new HDD, an additional SSD, 16GB of RAM, a new Headset, and 2 new Monitors (anything larger than 21" means moving my P.C. to sit on the floor though, not sure I want it resting on the carpet, some DIY may be required to make some kind of undersling system for my desk.

You UK bikers out there need to do the Cat and Fiddle run, between Buxton and Macclesfield. Biking Heaven, seriously.

My previous bikes, from age 16 onwards -

Yamaha BW 50cc Scooter - got rid of it as soon as I hit 17 and could get a 125. People kept asking if I had one for the other foot.

Champ Stealth SS125 - piece of shit korean copy of a chinese copy of a honda

Honda Bros 400 - Japanese Grey Import. Older than me. Loved it.

Suzuki Bandit GSF1200N - also an awesome bike, had a tendency to overheat if stationary for too long - nearly shrinkwrapped my waterproofs to my legs in London one memorable day

BMW K1200S - had it for 8 months, took it off-roading as it were, insurance write-off

Loved everyone of my bikes.

I'm a biker myself. Used to have a BMW K1200S, but went a brief off-roading adventure this time last year. Went for a 2004 R1150R Rockster edition to replace the K1200. A bit sedate compared, but it handles much better.

My K1200 had sports panniers, which tricked me into thinking it was a tourer. The R1150 has proper panniers, so I can cart my shite around. I'm hoping to do the Cat and Fiddle run again this year, and maybe take the bike on the ferry to Spain, spend a week or two biking around northern spain.

Quick Edit:

My favourite biking thing, however, and this is the best fun two people can have without genitalia being involved:

Guilin Peaks. Dirtbike. Two people play as support. Both take C4. One drives. Sneaks up behind r alongside a tank. Pillion plants C4 on tank. Even more fun at high speeds. Once C4 is planted, pillion yells out on comms, and driver speeds off in front of tank. Pillion waits until tank has seen bike, then blows up tank. Switch seats, repeat. Many lols ensue.

I did this all evening with a mate of mine, racked up something like 3 anti-vehicle ribbons each, and ended up crying with laughter at some points. It got to the point where people were abusing us in chat, and bailing out of tanks every time a Dirtbike overtook them, friendly or not.

It's about as big as the awesomesplosion that goes off in my head when I ramp a DPV off the massive cliff hill in Firestorm and land on a sniper. Rare, but hilarious every time. And the exact opposite of the implosion of wet fartiness that goes off when I beach an attack boat in paracel storm. Which is disappointingly common.

Originally I thought the biggest in-game explosion was the one that went off in the background after I shot down a jet with a tank. Obviously, I never looked at that one, because I was too busy looking cool and awesome and having massive bollocks.

However, go on Hainan Resort. Get on the Hotel. Get the AMR that spawns up there. Look at the ruins of the tanker. On the accommodation block, there should be a light. Shoot it with the AMR.

Do it.

Right, brief update:

Sorry I haven't been as active as I'd like over the past few days, been outside factors eating up my gaming time. I've added as many SaS members on Battlelog as I could track down, probably missing a few though. I can't get onto the missing practice thread, but I'm quite likely to be afk tomorrow evening, due to me having a lodger moving in tomorrow night.

Next week, I'll be semi-vanishing (laptop only, not enough grunt for BF4) for 4 days on Thursday, then totally vanishing on the 12th for 3 weeks, as I am going back to sea to earn monies so I can carry on paying EA colossal sums of money for reskinned games.

Is there any way I could get a link to the SaS xfire details page? I had a trawl through the website, couldn't root it out, and the link in the info that you posted seems to be broken.

I'll stay away from blue font in future, I just used it to make sure the answers and questions were nicely separated. I'll use a tasteful Violet in future, or go full on hardcore Rainbow.

As for setting the snipers on me, my magnetic forehead nullifies that threat to a certain degree.

1. Why do you want to join Strategic Assault Squad?

You have an awesome rocking server, and you seem to be fun people, judging by the chat ingame. Also, I need a set of buddies to play with, as mine can be a little flakey. Nothing beats a good squad, and I'm sick of people driving off while I'm trying to repair them.

2. Are you joining as a Community or Full Clan Member?

Hopefully a full clan member, but I'll take community if that's the only option

3. What is your real name and game name?

Real name is John. In game name is GrimSkweeker. Was GrimSqueaker in BF1942, R2R and SW, BF2, BF2142, BFBC2, but some chopper reserved it while I was at sea for BF3.

4. What games do you play?

Wellll. 230 games in my steam library, most hours would be in TF2 on steam. That's what happens when you have a lot of spare time and almost sod all to do in it. other than that, wasted a lot of years on WoW (awesome pally healer), but now it's mostly BF4 and a few other indie games on steam.

5. How long have you played?

BF series? Since release day of 1942. Got every other game and expansion on release day with the exception of BF4. Was an alpha tester for BF3 (my old WoW GM was a develepor for dice, winner!). BF4 I wasn't that bothered about, but loving it since I got it in January.

6. Where are you located?

Southampton, U.K. However, I work at sea, so it changes to "somewhere of the UK coastline" every 3 weeks.

Just one - The Dirty Rats Clan - -=DR=-.. Played BF2 with them, had a few scrims, played BF2142, and the clan kind of petered out when CoD4 came out. Tried resurrecting it a few times, didn't happen, been clanless ever since.
