Strategic Assault Squad -> Battlefield 4

#1: No icon Low FPS Author: Milos PostPosted: Sat May 31, 2014 1:25 pm
    —
Summary:
I7 (should be plenty for 60 fps, and it used to be).
680M (should be plenty for 60 fps, and it used to be).
Average fps atm (BF 32X): 30.
 Latest drivers.
 Clean OS (win7/64).
Low settings everywhere (ingame options, game.config, nvidia panel, etc etc).
 32x Bf4 seems to be running better than 64X, on 32X i get 30fps on 64X i get 10-15 fps, wtffffff.

Up until a few months ago i was running bf4 anywhere from 60-120 fps.
Ive tried bloody everything :(.
Plz. Help.
:|.

Thinking it may might be latest Nvidia drivers as my new is acting up too. Or maybe a Windows update?

Been having this problem since at least the last 5-10 driver increments :/.
As for windows, i'm not sure :(.

I have no clue why this is happening.

Anything dodgy running in the background ?

flash app / gaybook / mail client ect ect all make a difference.

When you say latest drivers , what version is it ?

What about posting some detailed system info while playing bf4 using gpu z / cpu z

Using MSI afterburner, Hwinfo and Rivatuner to monitor.
This is standing at C flag in locker 64 players (temp and usage):[img]

Get rid of driver agent !

theres a built in screen shot function in gpuz

And CPUz is possibly more relevant

Im sure theres a SS function there as well if not just Prt scr and paste it into paint ..

max / min cpu temps are required.

And yea built in optimisation software is usually pretty shit

I prefer everything low, my fps just seems to spike to 30 fps pretty much all the time :P.

Did you say this was a fresh install of windows ?

did it come with a factory overclock ?
on one of those shots it says processor is overclocked 25% but it may be windows turbo boosting
its tricky to tell without going through everything but it does seem very warm to me ,
they are designed to run hot but should be under 90c ideally

maybe its full of dust ?

No overclock afaik, the overclocking stat was fluctuating between 50%-20% so i dont know what to make of that XD.
It gets pretty warm but thats ok, its a laptop so its to be expected :P.
Usually on bf4 around 75-85 C (just checked ingame) regardless of fps in game etc,
something is definitely holding back on power :/.

Yeah ive been on those sites a while ago (for the mobo ofc :P), as you can see in the drop down, it doesn't seem to have the model listed by HWmonitor :(.
Seems like a dead end to me :/.

Why do you think that ? The image you posted only seems to be using less than 7gb

Because ive been tweaking things to make sure its using all the cores, gpu etc.
Aswell as other major performance boosters, now when i join a server i get full 60fps for the first 1-2 min (im sure its about 80 if i didnt cap at 60).
After that it sinks back to 20-35 for the rest of the game.
Pc isnt overheating, its shown it plenty capable of 60 fps atm.

And ive read that  this has happened before, and it resembles my problem :p.
